Finally i can announce my first mission pack is ready for the big wide world :)

Contents:

   Introduces four new missions into the universe, some of the missions pay very little but give the player the opportunity to increase (or decrease !) his/her reputation with certain factions. One of the missions can potentially earn the player a useful large sum. One mission needs a little bit of thought to complete.

Installation:

   Unzip the installation file, you will have three files

     X3_Tycpack1_Readme_EN.txt    - this readme file
     X3_Tycpack1_Readme_DE.txt    - German readme file
     x3_bbs_tycpack1_v304.exe  - the main install files

   Run the .exe file and point it to your X3 folder.
   (For manual installation copy .\scripts\*.xml to .\x3\scripts\ and .\t\*.xml to .\x3\t\)

Compatability:

   There should be no conflicts with other scripts, no command slots are used.
   Language files 448172.xml & 498172.xml are used.

Update History:

   v3.04 Fixed, pirate mission now gives correct pirate notoriety boost.

   v3.03 Added German 't' file 498172.xml. Thanks to Marok Nar for his hard work.

   v3.02 Fixed, notoriety changes now work correctly (thanks to AalaarDB for the enlightenment).
         Fixed, globals setup now only runs once.
         Fixed, stops problem if player attacks target then leaves without concluding attack.

   v3.01 Minor fix, Pirate mission now only offered in pirate owned stations.

   v3.00 Initial release.

I have tested it as thoroughly as i can, but would appreciate any comments/problems.

Missions: 2 capture, 1 kill & 1 erm... interesting :)
1 capture is offered by pirate bases, the other 3 missions are any race owned factory (ie not a dock)

There is a small random on the priority, generally you should pick one up fairly soon(TM) :roll:

hey Tyc, nice scripts. I've tried one and one-half now :) with no major problems. I couldnt complete the Goner mission because:

I didnt have the right armament to "settle" the guy
but the other mission involving the Slave TS has got me thinking...

and correct me if im wrong (i tried this yesterday so my memory is a bit hazy), but I got the BBS mission, accepted and went for it. Just so happened it was in Argon Prime and I was in my Split Mamba with 2xAPBE's. Easily done, capped and sent back. I got my reward which was (if im right, maybe not) quite a sum of monies. Im thinking this should really be rewarded with say 7000-13000 or maybe a free M5 (with nothing). Secondly, the BBS was from the "Argon" but when completed I got the message "...you really stuck a blow to the Argon...". Im unaware of how it affected my race relations as i didnt check it before I accepted the mission. Safe to say i didnt lose a rank over it.
Anyway, keep up the good work. Always good to have new BBS missions

Thanks, i had spotted that the pirate mission was occassionally offered in faction bases but only after release - now fixed in v3.01. Simply download and install over the old.

hey there. nice to have something to do with a reasonable ammount of interst and texture. from originally doing nothing much whatsoever, then escorting endless and endlessly slow transports that get ganked point blank by 6hept's.

so bbs missions are fairly entertaining.

I did the drive some dude, get jumped by xenon mission. the station he wanted to hit was right next to me. I launched, xenon spawned, i landed him there and failed the mission.(You're sposed to make a NONSTOP flight, he says) in retrospect it COULD have been the wrong flower farm. i was at one farm, he wanted to go to another, i may have chosen the wrong one. Then went and killed some xenon for fun.

The slaves. I was in.. Nyj's Decetption, they said trans was going to Zrt's Domination. I caught it right next door in Family Ryk. ..Nova, 4HEPT,2APAC,2MD. I couldnt communicate at all with it, threaten or whatever.. lit it up good with HEPT/PAC. It ejected a Hornet to appease me. I switched APAC only and straffed it gently about 20 times. couldnt communicate ever.

This i reloaded and did about 5 times to make sure of the random surrender/eject. Ended up smoking it every time. Tnx for the negative faction.
I do love having things to do, nice try.

is, i think you were very unlucky as in tests they eject about 8 times out of ten. It is worth pursuing tho because

you will get a very useful noteriety boost with the pirates, which is hard to get any other way
if you are playing as assassin, this could be very useful :)

Just wanted to assure all those who maybe worried, after checking the coding and initial testing, this mission pack appears to be fully compatible with patch 1.3 :)

Released v3.02.

Thanks to AalaarDB's work on the notoriety factors, i have now fixed this so that it gives the correct gains (& losses !) to the race notoriety.

Download and simply install over the original files.

Installed the latest version, but haven't seen anything new on the BBS, what type of message should I expect to think that everthing is working?

I have a good Rep with all the main Factions . I was wondering if I use this and take missions for one of them will it have a negative effect on the others ????

No, failing a mission will slightly reduce your rep with that faction only. Completing a mission will slightly increase your rep with that faction only.
It is also possible to increase/decrease your rep with the pirates and increase (but not decrease) your rep with the Goner.

Hi... I have your script installed. By chance would your script cause a ship's pilot name to be stuck? As in a ship has an AI name, but boarding this ship doesn't change the name to eg Julian.
