Does this require the Thereshal... bit? I was under the impression that the BBS didn't rquire this and so far haven't been able to tell if anything has changed.

tbh i've never used any script without the script editor so i wouldn't know, but my guess would be that you do need to enable it

Jurobi: The self extracting is just from WinRAR, its exactly the same as the rar version cept you dont need winrar to load it, i cant really say about spyware coz i dont know what winrar uses, if your worried, just use the .rar file instead

There's not an app on the planet that something won't declare as a false positive... ;)

You should activate the script editor for any scripts. User scripts working without editor activation is a bug, based on comments by egosoft.

how long do u have to wait before u win the lottery? time not odds. but would be nice to know the odds of winning :P

the time is random :P

i cant actaully remember the times without checking, but i dont think its about a game hour

its partly so u dont cheat and keep trying to reload the game until u win ;)

the odds r roughtly 40:1 chance of winning

i will make a new lottery that will work slightly differnet, u'll have less chance of winning but better prizes, ie, M6's. But it will be run more like a normal lottery, where the draw happens every so often, and ever ticket you buy will go into the same draw so u can buy more tickets to increase ur chance of winning.

This will be added as well as the current one, so it'll have both types ;)

Hi... I have your script installed. By chance would your script cause a ship's pilot name to be stuck? As in a ship has an AI name, but boarding this ship doesn't change the name to eg Julian.

which ship is it that has a pilots name ?

i dont c any reason for it to stick the pilots name thou

Basically any ship I board, isn't the pilot name of that ship supposed to change to Julian? Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

When I complete an Assassin Guild hit, the message returns, "thanks etc etc, here's the money, Aron Selek", instead of Julian.

if thier your ships theyt should say Julian yeah

but the messages fro mthe Assassins guild never refer to you as Julian, only as Assassin. The piots names are the target you needed to kill

the message is

Well done Assassin, you have killed "pilot" and claimed the reward of "reward" Credits, the guild is pleased

i've never actaully used the x3 editor

i've not tested that one, as its text thats not even being used yet, its something i was planning but havn't put it in yet so it shouldn't effect anything anyways

Hi Cycrow,

recently I had an idea that maybe could be added to your BBS extras...

The initial idea / request was about making a script or a script-software (as a buyable ship plugin) that searches for "XY" --> whatever the player is looking for.

A ship with that kind of software can be ordered to search for every kind of ware in the X-universe, like e-cells, or special things like mining laser or flak-array...

I requested such a script because of the ever changing universe since patch 1.3. Factories get destroyed, factories are being build. So it's difficult for the player to rely on "saved data" in the sector map. For instance I'm currently searching for a torpedo factory and can't find any (the ones in paranid prime and herrons nebula are gone :( ).

But then someone argued that this could be much more easier achieved trough the BBS, as some kind of offer from a trader or informer.

Do you think this is possible?

well, theres no way to get the bbs to ask you what station/ware you want to look for

and would prolly be best done via a command rather than on the bbs
creating a goods locator shouldn't be too hard, you jsut get the script to ask for the ware and enter a price and it will then find the closest station for you

same thing for a station locator, to find the cloest station of that type

coudl made have it so you have to pay to use the locator, so each time you want to find a ware you have to pay a fee to activate it

What a pity it can't be done over the BBS.

Ok, so back to the initial idea: A software-plugin for the ships. Mhm...I guess I know who is the perfect one to make this script. And no, sorry, it's not you :D :wink: . Also I guess you're busy enough, aren't you?

No, there's really no need at the moment. There's a german scripter who's done a "Scout Specialsoftware MK1" which has a lot features, like..

- discovering the universe
- set satellites in sector (single or array)
- set satellites on a route (single or array)
- scan asteroids in sector
- scan asteroids on a route
- grab ware xy in sector

So it would be a good idea adding a "search for ware" feature to this great script :wink: .

Im not sure if i should be posting this here, but i pretty sure its as a result of one of the scripts ive installed, i noticed while checking the bbs that one item just came up as Read text 7122-20, now i havent had this before, and ive just installed a few scripts, i never had it with the terracorp al script, or the bbs insurance and overtune scripts, and the only other one ive installed is the guildpack one, so could it be that and hoiw do i sort it out ? :)
