Sorry for what i'm about to ask! It's really stupid/ignorant.

But how on earth do you get the lottery script to load up? Or is it loaded upon entering the game? I ask 'cause i've unlocked the script editor and read the file telling me to press the l key which i've done and nothing happens? When you are in the editor it brings up a list of scripts and I select the lottery one and press l, then a message comes up and says "input" or something like that?

Any help? Please.

P.s Sorry for the long post

the script will automatically load whenever u load a save game
so u dont need to do anything in the script editor

to use it, u need to look on the BBS in stations
the occurance of it will be random

Just had to reply. Not long after posting that dumbass msg I went into the game to see weather I could figure it out myself and BANG there's a BBS msg with a lottery. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure users like me cause alot of pain in game developers lives.
Thanks for your reply and a great script. Off to try some Guild War scripts.

Would it be possible for you to add TLs as well as an option? Granted it's a transport, but I think it's plausible to have it stranded somewhere like the other capitals:

Last night I accepted a vanilla 1.3 assassination mission (no guild packs installed yet). The target was a Split Elephant, and it was escorted by 4 Mambas! Reward was well over 200k, and nice rank boost with the Split. I've never fought a TL before, and thought it would be a piece of cake. Well I can tell you it gave me a real challenge and scratched the hull of my beautiful Pirate Nova Raider.

Anyway, since I started on X-treme I have a long way to go before I'll be able to buy a TL from anyone...

@Cycrow: A question regarding the capital ships buyable at pirate stations...

First you said that these ships will be damaged. Then you said that they'll cost the same price as capital ships at normal race-shipyards.

So what I would like to know is: Is the price really exactly the same, or is it actually cheaper because the ship is damaged and your statement about the "same price" means the "same price if you could buy damaged ships in race shipyards".

I'm sorry that it sounds a little weird, I definitely miss a specific word for saying what I want so I tried to explain it :D .

PS: To keep it simple:

Possiblility a:

Argon M2 / 100% @ race station = 69.283.912 Credits

Argon M2 / 45% @ pirate station = 69.283.912 Credits

Possibility b:

Argon M2 / 100% @ race station = 69.283.912 Credits

Argon M2 / 45% @ pirate station = 31.177.760 Credits

The prices I've seen so far have been around 100 million, so they're probably full price. Don't know how it works in the update though, where you have to find the ship and fight for it. Should make sense that they're cheaper (you pay someone for information on where it is, if I understand it correctly).

Yea, they should definitely be cheaper.

I mean, the main use of this feature is, if you're pirate and you don't have the reputation with the free races you can still "buy" your capital ships at pirate stations.

But with a low reputation you also cannot use factories and uni-traders! So in fact it's way more difficult to get the money for a capital ship as a pirate, right?

Conclusion: They should be cheaper. The price should be calculated due to their damage. Actually I dunno how the game caculates the cost for repairing...let's say a M2 damaged with 45% hull left. Maybe it's a simple calculation, like 55% of the normal price....but I guess that'll be too much  -

@Cycrow

Great script man, just wanted to say nice one

Plus one little thing (not very important but.....)
I was in Black Hole Sun at the Argon Installation (y'know those secret government bases) and i seen the "buy capital ships" bbs identical to the one in the pirate bases. Now im no scripting genius but to make a wild guess i'd say that the game engine classes those bases as "Pirate" aswell. Just an assumption.

EDIT: just looking it appears everywhere, even in the Argon Shipyard...this must be intentional, my mistake.

Anyway keep up the good work, a chara!

Slán!

I think the price is good this way. Because now it will cost u more then normal but u can skip the rep with the races.

Mhm...yeah, didn't think about this point. Good argument, then I withdraw my request to make it cheaper. Yea, make it even MORE EXPENSIVE!! :D

what do you think about the idea to be able to buy reputation with races in the bbs? corruption in the x3 universe :)

should be rare and expensive.

I agree they should be more expensive than buying them, and they certainly are when you have to pay to repair them. I 'test-bought' a Nemesis in the last version (reloaded afterwards, as I didn't really want it), and it had a 45% hull. Price 9 million. Repairing 55% of hull would probably also cost almost 9 million.

But when you only get the coordinates for the ship, you should only have to pay for the information, since you could loose the ship when trying to claim it. 100 million down the drain. But maybe a workaround could be that the money got deducted from your account once you managed to claim it?

Maybe the bastard of a pirate is "selling" you the ship, knowing there are waiting some hunters for you. At least they could be his men, so he is trying to get it all: First your money, second your ship or your life and finally he keeps his ship  .

I mean....hey, they're pirates. The only way to expect honesty from them is to say the word "parlé!" if they want to harm you  .

yeah the capitol ships do work out more experience if you buy them buy the pirates simply because of the no rep required to buy them
if you have the rep to buy one, then you dont need to pay pirates to get you one ;)

its not a cheap way of getting a ship, but a way to get a wship without needing to up ur rank

@dioltas, slightly mistake i think, i changed it so it would appear at all stations so i could test it, i musta forgot to remove it afterwards

cycrow what do you think about my idea on page 4? I cant go into split sectors because of low reputation so it would be a nice way to regain reputation.
