Cockpit Callback Version x14 --- STILL works with X3 v2.5

This mod is quite simple. It edits the tShips file and rewrites one file to allow X2 cockpits to be re-enabled. This is very legal even if you don't own X2 because Egosoft has included all the textures and objects from X2 in X3.

(3/16/06) Did the new apporch to enabling the cockpits. And now they can work without interfereing other mods. Thus I added a fake patch along with the normal mod to the zip. YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE FAKE PATCH IF YOU ARE GONNA USE IT AS MOD!

(2/8/06) Fixed the Nova Cockpits and Weapons. Added the proper Khaak'pits to the Khaak ships.

(5/4/06) The Teladi cockpit folder was named incorrectly, this has been fixed, so now Teladi ships have their proper cockpits again.

(1/5/08 ) Just checked the mod, and yes, it STILL works with 2.5!

Great job Galaxy.

edit: I just checked out the cockpits and you are right, they look much much better in X3, I think this will make a lot of people happy, it really does look good.

im guessing they look better due to the better rendering engine in X3 and the use of shaders to improve the quality

Since its a mod it wont work with another mod unless the mod incorporates it.

edit-- as far as I can tell it doesnt seem to cause any adverse effects with the HUD.

Not that I know of, BUT when you turn off your HUD, you also turn off the cockpit...theres no way for me to stop it. :(

I just testet it with the syndicate mod, and all i had to do was to undock and then dock, and voila! i had a cockpit. I don't know if it will be the same deal if you start a new game in the Syndicate. Mine was a saved Syndicate game and it works like a charm.

Now bring back internal docking, and i'll kiss your feet :D

any way of only instaling cetain cocpits, like the M1, M2 and TL?

im fine with the standard X3 view for fighters, but i figure Capships should have a propper bridge......

I have just tried it and i agree they look better in X3.Such as instant ramp up in immersion it's unbelievable.It just reinforces my thoughts from the big 'Wot no cockpits?' thread that seemed to run for aeons.
