The Rise of Antigone
This will be a story about a Argon colossus commander. The Antigone memorial system has once again been attacked and been decimated. But this time not by the Xenon but by the Kaakk. Three Kaakk destroyers entered the system and decimated it. They have since taken control of the system. This has been the first time a Kaakk presence has been established in the known universe. All ships that have entered the system are never seen from again. They have been presumed destroyed, but who knows. The actual story will come soon.

The Argon Colossus Corsica was the talk of Argon Prime. Everyone from reporters to traders talked about the new ship. This new ship was the first in a new line of ships. Ever since the Xenon war the Argon have moved away from militarism. Now they had to restart it. All of the supplies in the core sectors were being rerouted to the construction of the ship.
Captain Shawn Kennedy sat at his desk in his ready room. He could see the new shipment of novas being loaded onto the ship.
"That should be all. Now we have to wait for the Discos and a couple of Busters for acquiring materials." thought Kennedy.
His comm on his desk buzzed.
"Captain, Admiral Cox is here to see you," said an officer on the bridge. The bridge crew had yet to arrive. They were supposed to come tmmrw.
"Send him in."
The doors that connected the readyroom to the bridge swung open and an older man who had admiral pips on his shoulder.
KEnnedy stood up at attention.
"At ease, I just came to see how your preparations were coming along."
Kennedy motioned for Admiral Cox to take a seat. Then sat himself.
"Alll of our main fighter squads have arrived, we are still waiting for our busters and discos from Omicron Lyrae. The ship is physically ready to go, we are waiting for some more of the crew to arrive."
"Well, you certaining are ahead of schedule. When will you go on your shake down cruise?"
"When the full crew is onboard, which should be later today."
"Good. I just wanted to stop by to see how things were going."
"Thank you sir."
Admiral Cox got up and left the room.
Shawn Kennedy sat down and relaxed.
"Captains Log, We are about to leave. The entire crew is here. The busters and discos will arrive with our corvette escorts. WHile we wait for them to arrive we will go ahead with the Shakedown."
"Alright people this will be a short jaunt around the block, we go around to see the Gonners then head around to president's end then back up through home of light to Prime." announced Captain Kennedy on the bridge.
He sat down then gave his first order.
"Lieutenant Hunt, clear our departure with Ops." ordered Kennedy to the communications officer.
"Ops has cleared us sir."
"Clear all moorings, Ensign Cooper."
"Moorings cleared," answered the helm officer, Cooper.
"Bridge to Enginneering, bring the engines online."
"Engineering here, all engines and thrusters are online," answered chief engineer Marcus over the comm.
"Take us out, full speed," ordered Kennedy
The Giant awoke and left her den slowly at first then quicker. Kennedy waited for them to clear the station then gave another order.
"Set course for the west gate."
"Course set, ETA 2 mizuras."
The trip threw Red Light and Cloudbase Southwest were excellent, all the traffic stayed out of their way. Then they entered Ore Belt.
"Sir I am detecting unsual energy signatures coming from the asteroid fields."
"Move us to the out skirt of the field. This will be a great test of the new quadruplix scanner."
"We are in position. The reading are much deeper than our scanners can get. We only know where it is not what it is."
"Time to get our fighter pilots some training. XO prepare a fighter squad."
"Aye sir," answered Commander Carla Mason.

Captain Kennedy watched, on one of his screens attached to his chair, the three fighters leave the bay and head into the field.
"Fighter one launch complete."
"Fighter two launch complete."
"Fighter three launch complete." Kennedy heard over the comm system.
"Bring the Fighter camera online." he ordered.
The viewscreen changed to the outside view of one of the fighters.
"Sir they are about to travel outside our sensor range."
"Can we stay connected via their sensor range?"
"No sir. There is something similar to nividium in the asteriods that is causing interference with our lock."
"The fighters are awaiting orders."
"Tell them to proceed in, but to be careful. Argon once found a Khaak Observation post in there."
"Sending orders...they have acknowledged."
Captains Log Supplemental: It has been one hour since the fighters have left our scanner range. At half their normal speed they should have made it there in five minutes. Who knows what may have happened, but we have to be prepared for the fact they may be dead.
Captain Sean Kennedy sat in his readyroom looking out into the field. Looking out his window into space always brought Sean a sense of calm. Then he saw a red dot then a small explosion. He moved his hand to tapp his comunicator when it beeped first.
"Captain Kennedy, please report to the bridge!" asked his first officer.
Kennedy strode out of his office and slid confortably into his captain's chair.
"Report."
"We have detected a series of explosions and weapons fire inside the field."
"What sort of weapons fire?"
"We can't get detailed readings but we know it is energy based."
"Is it just me or is it getting closer?"
"It is, it will be here in 30 seconds."
"Shouldn't we be able to detect them now?"
"No sir, the asteriods have moved, some have blocked and blocked our scanner."
"I don't like this at all, go to yello alert and bring the shields online."
"ALL HANDS YELLOW ALERT THIS IS NOT A DRILL ALL HANDS YELLOW ALERT." boomed the shipboard AI, Alexi.
"Sir we are being hailed!"
"This is the Argon Carrier Corsica-"
"This is Angelo Bartini, i am under heavy fire by-" there was a burst of static.
"By whom?" yelled Kennedy. There was no response. "Comm get him back!"
"Sir, Bartini was a copilot of one of the fighters."
"Go to Red Alert and prepare all fighters for launch."
Once again alexi voice boomed through the ship.
"Here they come." anounced a sensor officer.
"I am detecting two Argon Nova fighters and a..."
"What?!"
"One...no two Khaak destroyers!"
