What do people think about the pricing of the station shield generator item? I'm possibly thinking its abit cheap.

Description:

Adds a command to the station's command console called "Connect Lasertowers to shields". When activated the station transfers shield energy to nearby laser towers (5km range). Effectively placing the laser tower inside the factories shields. If the lasertowers are hit then the shields re-charge from the factories shields making the laser towers stronger.

To use this command a station shield generator is required to be installed in the station. This is the device that is responsible for the shield transfer process. These can be found at your local teladi/boron EQ dock.

Use:

Buy a station shield generator and take it to your factory
Install it by docking at your factory and using the "Install Wares to station" command in the custom menu.

With a shield generator installed, simply activate the connect lasertowers to factory command from the factory command menu and the shield transfer process will start.

The install wares to station command also allows extra shields to be installed to your factories. (Cost of 50000Cr per shield installed)


Script also adds an option in the artificial life setting to auto update laser towers to 125MJ shields. If this is enabled then they will be automatically updated at a cost of 72000Cr per lasertower when they are linked to the factory.

Not too bothered about protecting the lasertowers, but the extra shields to stations is definatly needed.Hopefully this should stop the khaak destroying my stations/complex.

Does it work on a complex?

Errr Hmmm ?

Am I doing something wrong?

Got the 'sheild generator' installed... check
Got my 'laser towers' positioned... check
Added 10Gj shield to station (my option)...check

But LT's dont seem any more resistant to attack?

Have I not understood the use of this script? Do the towers simply regenerate their shields? or 'as I was hoping' should they now have about 20Gj 0f sheilding?

ALSO there is no option to 'add shields' in the station commands?
(The auto update sheilds is in the AL settings so assumed it was all working) but when I try to add sheilds, no joy :cry:

Considering al_main advertises XTM in their sig, Id says its a safe bet its XTM compatible. :P

Makes me want to make a Shield Relay Station that does nothing but amp up the shields of anything within 5k... though, as with any good sci-fi, shoot the generator and you'll find that it's magically quite unshielded... :D

I need them for the Sector Takeover Script. But its good now they will do more than just be small scale warehouses.

i loved this for reunion, im now currently playing X3 terran conflict, and well im really missing this i have its counterpart install shields to stations for X3TC could any of you master brains port this for terran conflict if it hasnt been done already ?
