1.3.2 Beta =All save games corrupted!

Just installed the 1.3.2 beta patch and all my previous save games are corrupted.Is this supposed to happen?Appologies if Ive missed something in the patch release notes 'sticky' above.

None at all.Vanilla 1.3 X3. But I had used Mad Boris's codec fix.Guess this wasnt supposed to happen then lol.

One of my save games made the game exit and an ordernary windows message box told me the save game was corrupt. No crash, but a controlled exit.

Ok, I used 2 savegames, one 1.3.1 Beta and one vanilla 1.3:

1.3.1 loads ok, 1.3 is shown as corrupt.

FYI, I uninstalled 1.3.1 beta patch before applying 1.3.2 beta, so that I would have the same conditions Hoops had.

EDIT:

Just minutes before, I tested more savegames, even a 1.2.01 save. This one made X3 1.3.2 crash on my face (no corrupt save warnings, just MS error notification). HOWEVER, other 1.3 saves I had backed up managed to load. A couple of autosaves during storyline missions loaded up too.

Nope, I said that 1.3 saves have problems (shown as corrupt, not all of them though) while 1.3.1 saves load up as normal

Aha BINGO! So I guess CBJ needs to amend the sticky and tell peeps to download 1.3.1 first.Gah too late for me I guess,weeks and weeks of playing gone down the pan.Oh well.

Why have your weeks of gaming gone down the pan? Just reinstall from scratch and update to 1.3 and you'll be back where you were. The savegames are only "corrupt" in the sense that they cannot be loaded by the current version of the game that you have installed.

BEWARE that it's only 1.3.2 patch that sees your savegames as "corrupted". This DOES NOT necessarily mean that they ARE corrupted.

Look here, all you gotta do is to revert back to 1.3 version (run the patch installer again, you'll see the options). You have backed 1.3 gamefiles up when the patcher asked you, did you?

As CBJ stated, you can just reinstall, if you don't feel comfortable with the above procedure

Hi,

Removed 1.3.1 beta, and tried 1.3.2 - X3 politely exited and said the saved game (1.3.1) was possibly corrupt - I [i]was [/i]running a few scripts.

As 1.3.1 was a beta, I'm not too worried about the save games (it was only 400+ million), and I can always go back to 1.3.1 (I hope).....

Started a new game as humble merchant. The menu screens look better with a larger font - I can read them easily. [edit] - see post below[/edit]

Haven't had much chance yet to test, so will let you know what happens..

I'll reinstal and hope that all is well with my save games. So if I patch to 1.3 > 1.31 > 1.32 will those original save games work? Or would you recomend playing + saving in 1.31 first THEN trying the saves in 1.32?

FYI, I upgraded from standard 1.3 (no scripts/mods) to v1.3.2.

I wanted to test my old save game (was a v1.3 save) for a bug I reported, it's still there, but that's another story.

The old save loaded without any problems.

The old v1.3 save worked, but I've got that exit message when trying another one I saved yesterday (v1.3).

So 1.3.2 does work with v1.3 saves in some cases, for me that is.

Well, given the current situation, you should install 1.3.1 first, load your 1.3 savegame, save it to version 1.3.1, then patch to 1.3.2 and load. BUT, before doing anything of the above, backup your original savegames (you never know)

Hi,

Just to update on my prevous post.

Removed all scripts (apart from cheat scripts - essential for testing) and mods, started a new game - font is back to small size again. Looks like it started in one of the other available screen sizes on the previous test. At least there is a choice of screen sizes now, as various people have requested.

Still couldn't load the 1.3.1 saves (could be a problem with the mods).
