[Script] Warehouse commands v1.1 [Updated 10/02/2006]

Post by DeltaWolf » Mon, 28. Nov 05, 07:29

There's been some request to have something like the SDS script for X3, well I've converted the old "SDS deliver to one" script, with some changes - the original SDS script could not deliver goods from a Trading station or Equipment dock, the modified script (Warehouse delivery) can.
Warehouse commands

to install:
Extract files, copy files in scripts folder to X3\scripts and files in t folder to X3\t

What does this do:

1) Adds 3 new commands under the special commands:

2) "Auto transfer From"
This software allows you to automatically transfer goods from a fab to a doced ship, very useful for laser fabs and shield fabs.

To use: on the ship that has the software, there will be a new command under the special commands of the ship called Auto transfer From.
When activated it will ask for a station, this is the station you want to transfer goods from to your ship eg the laser fab or shield fab.

3) "Auto transfer To"
This software allows you to automatically transfer goods To a fab from a doced ship, very useful for storing ore or silicon on a docked freighter

To use: on the ship that has the software, there will be a new command under the special commands of the ship called Auto transfer To.
When activated it will ask for a station, this is the station you want to transfer goods To from your ship.

4) A new command is available under special commands called Warehouse delivery, it's based on the SDS software (SDS deliver to one), but with this you can transfer goods from a Trading Sation or Equipment dock.

To use: first select the homebase and ware to deliver, and then the destination station.

Text file used - 7350
Page file used - 7350
Command slots - special command 517, 518 and 550

As mentioned the Wahrehouse delivery command is based on the old X2 "SDS deliver to one" - not sure who was the original scripter - but a great thanks.

Can be downloaded from here

to be clear, this script would let you auto supply equip/trading docks with goods from other factories?

Yes, but the old SDS script could also do it.

What it could not do is supply goods from a Trading station or Equipment dock as they did not produce any thing - the Warehouse command can do it.

How about posting it on your site?
If not, I would appreciate it if you would send it to me via email.

Thanks.

Deltawolf, I've tried a couple of times to download these commands and the zip file is always corrupt. If I just click the link it goes to that 100web page.

Is there another way to get them? Could you email them?
Always welcome! Cheap and filling!

It doesn't work even if I try SaveAs in Firefox (I NEVER open Internet Exploder!) I get invalid archive error.

Sorry I don't know what the hell is wrong - it did work.

try this

http://deltawolf.freefronthost.com/x3/

then click on the "warehousecommands.zip" file - that should download the file (and is not corrupt) (I also use firefox and have tested it 2 min ago)

Delta, I love you! ;)

I've been hoping for the return of SDS and this is just killer to make it even better. :D

Forgive me for being thick, but I'm not sure what this means (don't know what SDS is either, so that's probably it..).

What does this script do, exactly? Aren't NPC ships already transporting goods from factories to equipment docks/trading stations in X3?

This is not for NPC station, but for player owned stations - you can transport goods form one of your station to another of your stations, without there being a credit transfer.

Ah I see. Perfect for loops ('unconnected' complexes) and the likes then? I've installed it and seen the commands in game, but haven't tried them yet.

Sounds very useful indeed. Thanks.

One question. Could this script be used to have a *full* freighter docked at a complex, say, with ore, and have it automatically transfer said ore to the complex when needed?

I've got separate silicon and ore freighters parked at a shield comp, as there are no 'roids in the area. I manually trade off minerals as needed. It's sort of a pita. Granted, the consumption rate of them are pretty slow, so a full Demeter SF goes a long way. But if it transfered to the station automatically, it'd rock. I have no real problem manually sending to to/from the mine for a reload tho.

No the autotransfer script transfer goods from the station to the ship.

If you want, I can write a script to do it the other way around.

That would truly rock. I don't mind sending a freighter to a mine to stock up. Having it sip from the parked freighter while at the comp would save a lot of trouble.

I'd much rather have to send the empty freighter to the mine for a restock once every 3-4 hours than to have to constantly check that the comp hasn't ran out of it while it's sitting in the docking bay.

If you want to make something like that, I'd appreciate it much.

Thanks.

I remember there is a script that will do what you want, it's called maintain quantities, written by REVEN for X2.

see:

http://forum2.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=21585

I will see if this still works in X3.
