Post by LV » Fri, 11. Nov 05, 18:30

AL Plugin :
Name : Treasurehunt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Description : AL Plugin providing hidden objects in the universe
Version : 1.1 Redux
Date : 20.3.07
Author : LV
Testing + Text : Toastie

Treasurehunt.

Cycrow Installer download

Install by extracting into your main x3 directory.

This AL plugin will create hidden ships and wares around the universe, They are not in specific locations which will allow you to cheat or look at a guide to get free money and are imperially programmed.

Finding a ship and claiming it is exactly the same as the stock method (spacesuit)

Players will need to be aware that not all ships lying dead in space are there for the taking and the word possum spring to mind ;)

Information as to the whereabouts of valueable bounty is also available through acts of protection or mercy in rare circumstances but for the majority of the time exploration will be needed

With each find your experience will grow and the rewards will also.

New In REDUX

The bounty is gets better the more you find as does the peril of your search.

Combat and/or trade veterens will no longer be rewarded with worthless items

Being generous to lifeforms you are not aquainted with by sharing your equipment and upgrades may bring direction to your searches if your generous enough but you'll need a fast ship.

alot of tweaks and fixes that are pointless to go into ;)

To disable the plugin go into your Artificial Life setting and set it from Yes to No.

If you are having trouble getting this script to run Read Here and also the numerous "why won't my script run" questions Here

Update for 1.1

just removed debug code and added a msg when TH is installed and also uninstalled

It stands for Artificial Life, you'll find them in your options for switching scripts on and off.

I've got this script running. Can't say I've found anything yet though. Can you expand on what I quoted above, if just a little bit? Does this script work in conjunction with your Escort script?

Of course it does.

Nothing will jump out at you with this script, you could go your entire game without noticing it.

Give it time :)

Bane_v2.

I got some information on valuable bounty by sparing two pirates who were attacking a space station.

LV: Problem related to that. I attacked one, he gave me information for mercy, so i stopped hitting him and he stopped hitting me. I attacked number two, same thing, but then number one started coming after me for hitting his wingman. Eheheh.

That's good to know, thanks. I guess I'll have to get some weaker weapons for my Nova then. There's not much time for mercy with quad AHEPT's. Or dual AHEPT's for that matter.

Oh and LV, when I asked if the two scripts work in conjunction with each other I was wondering if the ships from your escort script could give you information on these hidden ships from the treasure hunt script?

Reading my original question again that really isn't clear. Sorry about that.

I get the message begging for clemency from time to time but then they just keep on shooting at me.

Though maybe, reading an earlier post it's the buddies trying to help out. I'll try see what happens when it's the last survivor.

Question:

Will the ship you are beating on make contact with you, or do you have to comm him to give mercy?

They'll comm you. If you can, make peace with him, but at the least head away from him full speed on SETA.

HEH... right after asking the question, I started a game... and first pirate I fought begged for his life.

Of course, I just had to kill him all the way before replying! ... go figure

Some of the info comes up oddly randomized. I heard about one trader who was a regular at the facility in Xenon 538.

Would be great if I could work it our....I get loads of Pirates Begging for mercy but then they keep attacking me...... ....the ones I have managed to get stop firing at me when I turn to leave as they are still showing Red my Rear Turret opens fire on them :headbang:

Did have one he was on his own attacking my Freighter, I jumped in and started beating on him and he asked for mercy so I stop shooting, he turned and started to leave then went right back to attacking my freighter....GARRRRR I just had to kill him or lose a Lev 23 Uni Trader.

This I think has the potential to be great but surley it would make more sense if when a Pirate ask's for mercy and you show him it he would turn friendly and leave you and all your ships alone....at least till he gave you his info

Yeah that is the weak part of the script. It took me ages to work out (and by work out I mean get told) that you have to fly away to about 15km and then they send you the info.

All the while they are still trying to attack you or whoever they were going for before.

In essence yes but my concern was if i reset the f/f to neutral for the ship players may cheat, but thinking about it if i remove the msg after first attack it won't be a problem.

I'll update it soon
