How do you mod the Tships file for weapon compatibility?

How do you mod the Tships file for weapon compatibility?
How do you edit the lasers compatible with a ship and its turrets using the X3 Editor? Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you want to edit the "front" lasers (i.e. the fixed lasers cotrolled from cockpit) then just open the TShips file and change the lasers in the Front Lasers window.
If you want to edit lasers which can be used in a turret, first you have to look in TShips to see which turret is used on the specified position.
For example Argon Nova has one turret (rear) you can see that the turret has index 2 (int the Turrets window). When you look at the bottom list (Cockpits/Turrets) you can see that #2 is SS_COCKPIT_A_REAR.
You now have to open TCockpits and find the SS_COCKPIT_A_REAR turret and change the lasers in the same manner as in TShips. Changing laser mask for turrets will alter all the ships which are using such turret.
