"Passengers Sold To Slavery" - Request(X3)

Com'on, lets be honest here, who hasn't tried this? There's even an BBS post GIVING you the idea, "Passengers Sold To Slavery". Slaves from cap's are pretty pointless once you've got past the 100,000Cr mark. If only the Pirate Bases in Split sectors constantly produced slaves. Buy Low + Sell High = Slave Trade!

Could someone create a script allowing you to do this? Or at least make it so you could Sell the passengers from a Tour Mission?

I'm a complete Scripting Noob so if this is a stupid and worthless idea, don't hold back to tell me. Cheers in advance.

I thought you could anyway? Or was that X2?

Selling them to slavery is all very well, but you'd need to be able to get hold of some to start with.

What you could have would be BBS missions from Pirate Stations that asked you to go and get some unwilling subjects (perhaps from, say, a prison ship), then have that ship created, go and do something to it, and bring 'em back. Not done any BBS yet, but do-able maybe?

Cheers,

Rob.

I was under the impression this was already possible in X3. Haven't tried it though.

You could try Cartel's Capture Passengers script. It was written for X2 so no gaurantees it'll work or not clash with other scripts.

Edit:
Just had a good look at it. It won't work, the wares have changed slots so you have to capture the Very Important Passengers used a vegetable or some such  .

I'll have a go at fixing it up a bit later

the slaves sell cheaper than space weed? that always seemed a bit odd to me, if slaves served a purpose other than a cheap war that dont do any thing , id start selling them as its a game after all

ok, i just made this quickly

http://ircwhore.co.uk/x3/scripts/Passen ... 3.2006.spk

adds a command in the piracy commands to turn any passengers to slaves
you need passengers in the cargo hold for the command to show up

Awesome. Prolly the only real use for a TP now. Now, to see what kind of a rank hit you take. I can only assume it's going to be rather stout, or should be. :D

I go home for lunch in 30 minutes. I'm definitely giving this a go. :D

Well, now that the forum seems to be working again...

Gave it a try, and I laughed. Picked up 108 passengers, click, 108 slaves. Tho, it listed them in freight as "slaves read-text[etc]", I didn't make full note of the number. I've got quite a few of those in different areas (another topic altogether).

I took a 20% hit with the Boron (Queen's Knight 60% to 40%), so if I understand it correctly, it's a bout a 2000 point deduction.

Regarding the read-text thing, is there somewhere I can reference them (got a ton of them in some spots) to see what they are?

u can find out where the readtext are from by checking the numbers

the first number is the page id number and the 2nd is the id for the Text

im guessing its the text (illegeal) thats missing

hmm, that would make perfect sense, since I just remembered it does the same thing when I have weed/whiskey on board.

Not to sidetrack this too badly, but what's the remedy for it? Anything simple or do I need an easel and an abacus? :)

Er, maybe you could give a PM for a cure, if you don't mind assisting?

finished: Cartel Capture Passengers for X3

converts passengers and VIP's into slaves.

it sounds like a mod might have replaced one of the original files which is y the text is missing

what mods have you been using ?

er, a few. Using the sell station script (which may be a culprit, since the button to sell stations has the read-text on it as well), ashley's XL, stevio's scripts (shipyard, combat fabs, equip dock), your assassin guild, and deltawolf's warehouse script. There's also the system override mk2...

There might be a couple more, I'm just going off the top of my head. I noticed read-text things a while ago, but had forgotten about them.

One I know of right away, is the bottom left most button on the options screen (when you hit escape). It has "read-text[####]" over the button.
