Figured it was as easy as that (adding to the end of the list). I'll likely just make L and XL sizes of the tech fabs. Having 4 sizes of each will just clutter things up I think. Of course, I'm only gonna make them for the items *I* want. :) Adding them to a shipyard isn't too tough either.

As far as the calculator goes, that's an easy work around. Just use all L-sized fabs in the calc, then divide by 2. :D

The game takes care of the calculations, so no need to bother.

Also the next mod release will include ALL tech factories in L and XL sizes, (im cutting out M to save on factories) Im about to test all the tech factories for the argon side and see how they function inside the game...

Well after that test I can easily conclude Production Complex's will not be in the next release. As once they are in X3 theirs a cycle time of one second and zero products are produced...? odd I know.

I played with them, once. I think I'd rather have the L/XL sized single fabs to throw in a comp, personally. I don't think the "heavy shield comp" etc were intended for player use.

Having one XL fab in the place of ten should be a no brainer. Then again, you'd have to pay a premium for it. Maybe price it with a discount, buy an XL fab for the cost of 9 regular ones. In essence, you get a 10% volume discount? :P

Im not sure how to price factories, as X3 auto priced the factories in the previous releases. And yes I am only adding in L and XL types for the single tech factories ex:

shield 1 MJ L / XL
mosquito missile L / XL

Right now im tryin to figure out how to edit the Tfiles in notepad to add the factories in faster :P

From what I've seen, the ReVal value is 1/83rd the in-game cost (roughly 82-83x the value anyway). Obviously, leaving them as-is would be way too cheap. Just take the reval amount x5 for L and x10 for XL. Since it's in effect, 10 fabs in one. ie:

Argon BPAC fab 6,557,312
BPAC L Fab: 32,786,560
BPAC XL: 65,573,120 :o

But then, the XL fab produces 33 BPAC/hour... Should be ample for stockpiling weapons for a fleet of M4s. :D

You'll pay a hell of a lot more for the convenience, but in some folks' games, it prolly wouldn't even make a dent in the bank account.

Not having the TFile in front of me, I can't tell you what the actual value for them is. But, multiplying that value x5 or x10 should work, or at the very least be close.

Just some input for brainstorming. :)

Good! :P It looks like the fabs will be costly (as they should be) and I wont have to even think about adding prices :P hehe! Im almost done the modding part (its like ~120 factories per race added).

ummm... WOW!... I have completed the Tfactories part, it now contains 874 total factories. Started with 301 original facts and then added 573... That is ALL sheild facts, missile facts, and weapons facts sizes L and XL added. Now to start the scripting...

Im debateing on releasing a BETA version since im bound to have made an error somewhere. If this happens it WILL NOT be compatabile with the final release as I intend to add blank facts after DeadlyDA gets his wack at Tfactories.

If you would like the BETA version maybe I should do it this way, PM me or post in thread, (I will probally not post the DL link due to compatability issues for saveing with the final release).

Good sweet christ! You really grab the bull by the danglies don't you? Well, if you want someone to test for you, I'd be willing. I can just back up my saves and start a new game to test them out.

Now, are the same issues with the XL fabs hold true as before with screwed up resources and cycle times still there? What Armageddon was working on I mean.

I only modded the in game fabs to XL to see if they worked (and gave them a hefty price tag). That said, THOSE work fine, as all the required resources are correct, both in type and quantity, as well as the proper production cycle (units/time).

Suppose I could try a quickie added fab to check it out.

Currently the L and XL fabs do not have the required resources, but... thats part of the scripting. I have to update what Armegeddon wrote to include the extra fabs, then his Lib will take care of the rest. Ive just now got the argon facts scripted to a SY about to test and pray I did it right :P I will start work on the resources part as soon as I have all the fabs scripted into the SY's corectly. I wont have the BETA release until at least tomorrow.

Edit: Well script works, just the facts are wayyyy underpriced...

fud, can you explain how you changed the factories prices? thx!

Actually, that's fairly easy. Just open the Tfactories.xml in notepad or wordpad (I use wordpad personally), find the line for the factory you want. I use the station ID_name to find what I'm looking for, which is the red part of the following line:

1;0;0;0;0;2;2551;117;1.100000;3;200;stations\station_scenes\tech\
argon_tech_S_factory_H_scene;1;5;37;38;1500;10;ICON_TRG_ST_FARM;25150;28800;25;20;5;11500;100;0;0;SS_FAC_R255_2;

(It's actually one single line, I just split it into 2 lines to make it easier to read, and that's how linewrap is setup in my wordpad)
copy that entire line to the end of the file, and change the ID_NAME to what you want it to be.
The part in green is the size of the fac, which you already know about. it's position 17 on the line.
The part in white is the Reval amount. position 20.
The rest of the positions you can figure out by looking at the offset column in the modmanager.
After you've added all the new entries, you need to change the very first line of the file

47;343;

The second number is how many entries there are in the file, so just increase it by however many you added.

Ashley, it's pretty simple actually. :D This is from memory, so bear with me.

Using Armageddon's line from above:

1;0;0;0;0;2;2551;117;1.100000;3;200;stations\station_scenes\tech\
argon_tech_S_factory_H_scene;1;5;37;38;1500;10;ICON_TRG_ST_FARM;25150;28800;25;20;5;11500;100;0;0;SS_FAC_R255_2;

The yellow value should be the reVal value. Just mulitply this x5 or x10 for the L/XL price.

In the actual file editor the values are towards the bottom.

reval (28800)
modifier 1 (25)
modifier 2 (20)

then it skips a couple lines and gives the player reval (11500)

When I go home for lunch, I'll give you the exact entries.

hummm... Ive alerdy tried changeing those values and It didnt have an effect on prices. But, im going to toy with them a bit more now.

Thanks Armageddon, but your just a tad late on the how to edit in notepad part :P, I spent an hour lookin for that on the fourms. Turns out, I figuered it out myself in less than 5 mins... lolz, must of had a burnout in my mind when I couldnt find the relation to 301 (the default factories provided by egosoft).

Heh. Oh well, at least if anyone else who is wondering reads this topic, they'll have some idea on how to do it then. Would've posted it sooner, but I think I was asleep when you asked your question.

Hehe! Thanks anyway Armegeddon :)

And I found out the NPC ReVal offset #20 changes the factories price, turns out... I was editing the Player ReVal and getting no change. Oh well, I guess im off to multiply by X5 and X10 for 573 factories  Shouldnt take tooo long :P

Well I hope im finally done with Tfactories. Found out I was missing a factory, have all the ReVals set, also set the volume to their apporiate level. The only problem with the *apporiate* volume levels is the Gamma PPC forge thats 50,000 units. :o For now im going to leave the volume levels alone (at least for the beta). I guess im off to scripting now...

Edit: I just looked over the prices of factories, Lemme tell ya! they gonna cost ya!

XL PPC = ~ 160 mill
XL Tractor beam fact = ~ 177 mill

Although its pratically a cheat to have the larger facts because of the production vers the npcs facts, your essentially paying for the cost of the small facts in one with the same production quota :P

Yea, we're paying for the XL's. But remember, 1XL=10S's :)

Which means when we want to build a LOT of items of said type, it doesn't occupy half the sector in the process. :D

I have no problem paying 10x as much for it. Since you'd be spending that much on 10 normal ones anyway. The only exception being, you don't need 2 hours to place and connect them all. :D

Hmm, I'm kinda glad I tampered with those fabs now. Having .48 1GJ made per hour kinda sucks.

Tho, I will say having 2 BHEPT XLs churns them out at 20 units every 100 minutes. They stockpile rather rapidly. The fun one is mosquito missles, that spits out over 5000 an hour. :)

Actually, I may build one of those. 2 Mosquito XLs, 10000+/hour, pawn em off at TerraCorp for 1.7M/load....
