Currently only the Less Asteroids Mod, self explanatory.

This has been updated, Less Asteroids only and should work, if it does not work, please let me know 04-03-2006

Link for just LessAsteroids:

This Mod requires that you start a new game because the asteroids are generated at game creation!

Simple to install, just extract files into X3 game directory.

If you want me to also update my Less enemies mod please let me know, I can also change how easy or difficult the enemy is, or how easy or difficult it is for them to evacuate their ships for ship capture.

-- I want to thank Red Spot for his hard work!--

Good call, well done. :)

I have already started a new game, but I've also got leftover saved games from before 1.3, which I would like to continue.

The universe was way too "easy" in 1.2.01, but 1.3 just makes it damned near impossible.

What kind of tuning did you do? I certainly don't mind Khak Cluster spawns, or random wandering Xenon... but having *their entire military force* appear, which seems to be happening, is a bit much.

Well I lowered the Max amount of pirates by a little, I also lowered the max amount of Xenon and Khaak moderately. I lowered how many were allowed per sector as well so you will get less of them per sector.

Neat.

But can you make this download a zipfile, instead of a rar file?

*Everyone* can open zip files, but not everyone can open a rar.

This is great, but, it's not the max amount that is the issue, it's how many come per sector at a time. Good work. ;) I may futher adjust it so only a handful appear per sector and my nice little economy I have built will continue to thrive as I have a "little" combat and not a fragfest like patch 1.3 is. The fragbois must love it, but, they all got gigantic empires anyways and if I had a gigantic empire yeah I'd wanna do more fighting as well. But, the trading game is so much fun in this game. ;)

Do you need to use the script editor at all ?

by DrunkenPirate
No, you don't need to enable that for this. just throw the files in the mods directory and then seelct the mod when you load up the game.

Actually, It's not free, It's Shareware.
Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40 days. Following this test period of 40 days or less, if you wish to continue to use WinRAR, you MUST register
However, It mights be a good idea to invest in a winrar license as I've recently had some problems sending (by email) .zip files containing .exe files...
Seems like some email servers don't accept them, and returns an error msg.

You could try Filzip http://www.filzip.com/en/index.html
Its Freeware and it handles both zip and rar files.

I did lower amount of enemies PER sector, for instance, there were 5 pirates allowed per sector for EACH pirate Variant, which was 4 in total, meaning about 20 or so pirates. I lowered that to 3, so now max is 12, significantly less. I lowered other things too, but for the most part kept still a lot there, and they will respawn at the same speed. If anyone wants me to increase or decrease enemy activity or change something just let me know, I didn't have a lot of time to test this and it may need some balancing.

Actually its more like Nagware. You can just close that poup telling you to register and then continue to use WinRAR as normal.

Nice stuff, Blackrain. Is it possible to turn spawning enemies off completely?

Yes, it is possible to turn off the spawn of enemies completely, but why would you want to?
