What happens when you 'turn your head'? Does the cockpit stay put and the hud move with you? Or does the hud stay still too?
(Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but until my new computer arrives, all I can do is look at the X3 box... )
Also, if anyone can post some more screenshots, I'd really appreciate it.

The X2 cockpits enabled in X3 look great!
Why didn't the developers do this in the first place??????

im dying to try this, is everyone certain it wont stuff up my saves, (mind u i can back em up) and what happens when you turn head??
x3 has a lot missing cokpits i miss a lot, i wanna see some graphicalchanges when i spend 2million credits on a new ship.
is x3 going to have cokpits anyway soon with a patch??
if not can i revert this mod at any time??

Turning your head works just like it did in previous X versions... You see more of the cockpit. Very nice work.

Its all about immersion. Having a cockpit gives you the feeling of being inside a spaceship, whereas no cockpit at all feels like you're just flying through space, head first.El Toro wrote:Uh, I dont get it. X3 is my first X-game. I didn't know what I was missing when the cockpits were taken away.
Let me say this: in the past, I didn't care about the cockpits, but now that I've seen them, they truly do add to the atmosphere of the game. You get a much larger sense of scale of the vastness of the X-Universe, and the cockpits I've seen so far really do look impressive, even if they are not interactive (although they do react subtly but with strong visual appeal to what you do with the flight controls)
The downside is that I take a small frame rate hit, which is why I suppose the cockpits were taken away by the Egosoft, but I'd much, much rather have the cockpits on than off.

I now find myself overlooking many of x3's faults...for now --- funny how a little cockpit art changes the entire mood of the affair.

What I really want to do is make a cockpit for all the fighters for each race, one for the Argon (which might be the current M4 or M5 one), Boron (possibly the current M3 one), Paranid (Might have to make a new one...), Teledi (a revamped M5 one most likely) and Split (We'll need a new one for them). Even though there won't be different one for each ship, there WILL be a different one for each race!
