^ you dont want to be baorded or vise versa, SKOM and PNS ships marine compliments wear havy battle armor, there basically human tanks that can hold 500 pound weapons and walk at 60 mph, +theres a LOT of them, so gl with that...

OOOOOooo... Armarines. Just like mine. Just think Samus Aran from Metroid, only bigger guns.

Question on the armor of the SKOM and PNS though... How bulky is it?

GCFA Armarine heavy combat armor makes a person look like a cross between Samus Aran and a linebacker at the superbowl. However the mobility of the armor allows them superhuman jumping and running. And its high mobility. High mobility armor design in troops is ESSENTIAL, otherwise you're just making them targets for Anti-tank units and have to treat them like tanks. Thus, I have strictly... actual tanks for the purpose of being ARMOR. AKA: Slayer Main Battle Tanks. No other ground armor effs with a Slayer, and lives past the first SMASHBAM round.

not too bulky, its made up of some terribly strong battlesteel, but only makes them aout 8 ft tall, and the fact that they can run down any corridor at 60 miles per hour with theier exoskeletal muscles should give you a hint that its not that bulky, just very very dangerous, beware of plasma carbines, and flechette launchers...hahaha

(Far Orbit Goshan V)

Rear Admiral Staz surveyed the bridge of his flagship the "Cobalt Diamond" Advanced Heavy Battleship. He and the rest of the Battle fleet "Crystal Star" were awaiting the passage of the PNS Thalaron Battleship through the Goshan sector were, with luck they could implement the Admirals plan.

“Time to PNS contact?” he inquired of his Sensor officer.
“54 seconds” reported the officer tersely.
Staz stared straight ahead at the view-screen as the seconds ticked by, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, Staz never wavered, The rear admiral was only 42 GaGaren years old but had made captain in less then four years, rear admiral in three more and had been given command of the entire “Crystal Star” assault fleet within six months of his promotion, since then he had won two major victories against PNS holdings and had been instrumental in four more. He was a task-master and ran his crew hard, his vessels harder but not a single word had been said against him by either rank or crewman during his entire time as commander of the fleet.
5…4…3…2…1…0

The PNS battleship dropped out of hyperspace at precisely 0.34 seconds from zero-and all hell broke loose.

The “Cobalt Diamond” opened fire the instant its tracking scanners could lock on, and space was light with energy discharges, shield impacts and anti-matter release.

“All ships” commanded Staz “Concentrate fire on the PNS Battleship’s shield overlaps that’s were the shields are at there weakest.”
The PNS battleship closed with the nearest GaGaren Warship, the “Ion Storm” and emptied it’s disrupter banks into the bridge, the “Ion Storms” shields overloaded, the bridge exploded outwards and at the same time was forced inwards ripping out the entire aft section and rupturing the anti-matter pods. The “Ion Storm” exploded with colossal force and, by shear luck a huge portion of the aft landing bay careened out of the wreckage and slammed into the PNS battleship at 25,000 KM a second, blasting through the forward shield like a laser beam through butter. For a moment, just for a moment Staz thought he had won, nothing could possibly survive impact with such a large, fast moving object. The fragment slammed straight into the PNS Bridge at insane velocity-and bounced off. Without even slowing, the PNS Battleship seemingly revelling in it’s madding immortality carved straight through the centre of the fleet turning two of the nearest ships to atoms.

Staz glared at he smoking remains of the two ships, he wasted no time on sadness, it got in the way. “Helm, close to within 600,000 KM. Sensors, can you make any sense of those flower-petal struts on the wings?” A few seconds passed and finally the sensor officer said; “it appears that those strange formations are Thalaron emitters, the energy discharges appear to be excess Thalaron energy being vented by the Thalaron reactor.
“Are they layered with the armour?” Staz asked, a desperate idea beginning to form inside his head.
“checking…..they are layered with strips of the armour but the apertures themselves are un-protected why?”
Staz wasted no time. “Forward disrupter banks lock onto those apertures, if we can damage them enough to prevent venting the excess Thalaron the build-up might just be enough to eradiate the interior.

The “Cobalt Diamond” closed with the PNS Battleship, It’s disrupters lanced out, blasting into the weakened forward shields, they held for less then six seconds then overloaded, bathing the PNS Battleship in a brilliant blue haze witch almost instantly dissipated into the armour,

“Her shields are down” the tactical officer reported.
“Engage booster engines, forward weapons fire at my command”
“Executing”

The Diamond’s massive booster engines blazed into life launching the huge ship forward at a full 1/3 light speed, at almost the same second the PNS battleship opened fire with all batteries. Staz had timed it perfectly, the “Cobalt Diamond” streaked past the PNS battleship’s starboard wing blasting away with it’s entire arsenal, twisting one of the struts into a right angle and blasting another off altogether while sustaining a single glancing blow amidships.

“Report!” barked Staz as the ships inertial dampeners activated and the mad jarring vibrations of massive, sudden acceleration subsided.
“Primary shields are at 98%, aft shields at 92%, minor impact reported on aft shields.”
“Status of the PNS Battleship?”
“Reading heavy damage to their shield generator, forward shields obliterated, one Thalaron Waste pylon destroyed, one badly damaged. Inoperable. They’re adrift, reading a major build-up of Thalaron energy in the main storage chambers.”
“Time to fatal build-up?”
“5 seconds, but….this shouldn’t be, we haven’t done more then minor damage to the waste-WAIT…look!”

The ship was…glowing, vast orange lightning bolts of trapped Thalaron energy crackled over its entire surface and dissipated into space. For a full ten minutes the battleship was bathed in an eerie orange glow that finally faded, leaving the ship adrift, a ghostly sliver shell resembling nothing more or less then a vast empty carapace shed by some gargantuan insect.

“Report” said Staz.
“PNS Ship has been rendered devoid of all life forms, reading minor internal damage but I still can’t determine what caused the overload.”
“Can we safely beam aboard?”
“The Quantum armour prevents beaming due to the density ratios involved, however now the engines have closed down we can beam into the outer hull of the engineering room but there is still a danger.”
“What kind of danger?”
“You might beam into solid quantum armour or into open space sir”
“Risk assessment?”
“Working….85% in our favour and 15% in favour of something going wrong but I’m not going to say what.”
“Why not?”
“Have you EVER seen the result of a transporters accident sir?”
Staz decided to drop it at that.
“Has the radiation dissipated yet?” he said.
“Yes the radiation level is now at 1.342% and should dissipate……now”
“Why did it dissipate so fast?”
“Since Thalaron radiation is more of a….anti biological field instead of true radiation it dissipates very fast when it: A: Stops being given reproductive energy through a third party or B: Runs out of biogenic energy to keep on reproduce.”
“Hmm…File that away under “useful information” it might prove useful later”
“Aye sir”
“Ready an away team”

To be continued……

Guys do you think we could work together a bit more here as it seems we each have drifted off into other waters and this is a RP thread after all.

Even as he finished the order, an open comm interrupted his thoughts.

"Stand by Cobalt Diamond... Your aft, thirty degrees up, portside at three kilometers..."

The navigation officer quickly switched the viewscreen to that position to see what was going on.

In a previously empty patch of space behind them, there was a flash, followed by a progressive trail of lightning which edged along the outside of something... a few seconds later, the Phantom Class carrier HASTINGS completed its decloaking process. It's first four alert fighters exploded out of the launch bay and into open space almost immediately. Two seconds later, two Ghost class frigates decloaked in escort positions.

The four fighters were joined by another four, and then four more, eventually, twenty-four fighters were flying patrol around the fleets.

"I must say, you set that up perfectly for Polterguiest to put a MK-40 implosion torpedo right into a weakspot. All that fire going on, dropped their shields, beat off some of their outter light armors, they never even noticed the MK-40s low profile. Anyway, I'm under orders to assist in seccuring the local space, so we're going to deploy from here... the fleet should arrive in twenty minutes. I think it's... Ten Archers, Ten Magnums, six Tigersharks, four hammerheads, a Millenium, The Galaxius, and an Orion... Just a task force really...

Anyway, we're just the advance party..."

The two Ghost class ships peeled away and cloaked... after a few moments, the Hastings light up like a thunderstorm and vanished under its own cloak.

"Just pretend we're not here..."

Well, according to YOUR post, you engaged the monster-ship... got your fleet handed back, and then did a suicide run attempting to strike a critical blow. It was strangly successful though your crew don't think you did enough damage to do so.

It turns out you weren't the only attacker... there were three cloaked GCFA ships sitting right next to you, and one of them dropped a MK-40 Implosion torpedo through the opening you created in the shields into one of those weak strut points. That upped the damage enough to cause the thalaron overload. They decloaked once things calmed down just to let you know they were there. Hastings deployed its fighter squadrons to act as scouts and quick-attack in case reinforcing PNS fleets before the GCFA task force arrives in full. All three ships then dropped back into cloak as per S.O.P. (A cloakable ship never stays decloaked in a combat zone for long.)
They were ordered to assist you in shutting down the PNS offensive as soon as possible until the fleet could provide backup.

ahhhhhh

sorry, I'm not very good at reading between the lines but you must admit your post wasent very clear.

Thanks anyway, I had my own line on the PNS overload but it seems that you stepped in just in time.

I'll send you a PM on my personal twist.

TO:Allies
FROM: Holmberg Republic Secure Channel

Me: Weird, no enemies we have met have body armor, in fact we have met no resistance so far. Forward teams have had no casualties. we are on the bridge, checking through the databanks. appearantly they say an unknown fleet attacked them and fled after LS Systems were hit. LS however works fine!
(Cloaking Shield Sound)
Me: (noticing black armor-clad assassins behind me) um... we have a problem here...
(runs back to HRS Eisenberug, rifle sounds sounding)
Help! we have a problem here, sending coordinates now!

*Victory Fire jumps to hyper-space and leaves the sector*

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Deep in an unknown nebula*

A huge PNS station orbits a dead moon at the heart of the dead nebula.
no lights shine on it's hull, it's energy core is dull and it's decks lifeless. But at the very heart of the station, inside a hanger-bay larger then a holmberg orbital shipyard, something---is moving. lights shine on it's glittering black armour and as it's drives activeate for real after nearly 10 years of testing the entire station is juddered to its core. The PNS ship is free. the vast black ship glides through the hanger as behind it the stations huge core activeates in one final burst which instantly overloads the anchint cooling systems and causes the entire station to expload outwards. bits of metal and pockets of energy bath the PNS ship in strange glow not assceated with normal explosives and it continues totally unharmed untill it reaches the edge of the nebula---but though a wisp of gas parts as if an object had just passed through, no ship appears out of it.

lets just get on with this.
