i'm sad... performance is so great. but i still cant play more than 3 minutes. I still have that freeze.

This is a nightmare. I have 23 minutes to go before I can patch up. My game was quick and freeze free anyway. Ho hum, perhaps I will just watch all the new posts being added. Thanks a million Ego.

I just downloaded and installed patch 1.3 -> the game does not start anymore. I keep on forgetting: NEVER TOUCH A RUNNING SYSTEM/GAME! You should wait some time before installing the patch. First search through the forums.
I do not advise you to be another beta-tester!

Anybody experiencing freezing should look to their bios settings. This is generally a problem with either memory or CPU voltage. In most cases increasing your CPU VCore voltage to slightly more than the default normally cures problems like this.

From my experience.

This game looks so good it's unbelievable, performance is definetely increased,looks like you've cut down on shader instructions.
Hopefully it's not going to freeze on me again.

Wow, I briefly tried out the new patch and I have to say it sounds and looks better, I am very pleased. Gonna go play some more :)

What does dl1, dl2...dl5 mean. There's also a 1.2.0.1->1.3 at the top of the download list. Which one do I choose?

The different dl options are just mirrors for the same download. You choose the patch that is right for what you currently have installed. If you have already applied the 1.2.01 patch then you can download the smaller patch; if not then you need the larger one. If you don't know then just download the larger one (1.0->1.3) anyway.

Often its better to restart any game when a major patch is released to avoid any potential glitches, but seeing as how the man said it is compatible, I'm just going to continue. Personal choice really...

Well, this christmas is going to be spent without X3. After having waited for ages for a fix for the sound loop bug, I hoped 1.3 would be the one. So I got it installed, loaded my game, then suddenly I got the crash again. I tried starting a new game altogether. I managed to play about 40 mins, then WHAM, the sound loop bug again. I really do not know what to do. I really want to play this game, but it just isn't possible. Is there any help out there at all? :(

Check the tech support forum for the codec repair/reinstall fix..

I also used a tool from there that reencodes the mp3's for X3.. I never had the problem so I don't know if it fixes it, I was just looking for more performance.
