Silicon mine quick question
Today I both my first factory. Silicon mine class L . I notice that production cycle is 00:40:01 for 5 units of Silicon wafer. Now I can not see exact time for production cycle for Silicon mines class M (I still didn’t encountered L class of Silicon mine) but seems to me that it’s match shorter.
Can someone please explain to me what is determining production cycle of silicon mine? Can it be changed?
Thanks

Looks to me like you didnt check the asteroid for silicon amount. Use a mineral scanner and check that first. If it only has 5 or 6 silicon its probably not a good canidate for a mine and will not produce very much. Find the ones high levels of silicon content first like 56 or so. There are 2 really good silicon asteroids in ore belt.

so your saying it take 40 mins? to make 5 silicon ?igorstef wrote:Today I both my first factory. Silicon mine class L . I notice that production cycle is 00:40:01 for 5 units of Silicon wafer. that is a very long time..
as posted above get a mineral scanner and check all the astroids..
if you have a save point to get back to so you don't have to start all over then use it..

Does anyone know the exact cycle times of the differnt sizes of silicon mine? im thinking of buying a M from argon to stick on a 54 yeild roid in orebelt, but now im thinking to maybe save up for the L size mine.
The thing thats puzzling me is, im guessing a 54 yeild roid will produce silicon at 2x faster than a 25 yeild roid?
and does a L mine produce at ?x faster than a M mine.
is this correct and is there a table/data sheet with more info, sizes of mine/roid etc???
cheers

I think your right but not to sure I do know for a fact that when I put a large mine on a 31 silicon roid. it toke about 1 min to make 5 silicon..son of cronus wrote:Does anyone know the exact cycle times of the differnt sizes of silicon mine? im thinking of buying a M from argon to stick on a 54 yeild roid in orebelt, but now im thinking to maybe save up for the L size mine.

as well are that mine can hold 25k energy rather then with the medium holding 10k energy..

Lets make it:
M 2x
L 5x
XL 10x
Now, if the math for roid yields and mines is the same as in X2, then that 40:01 cycle time equals yield of 1. Now, I can not remember whether a silicon mine placed on ore asteroid behaved as being on yield 1 or 0 roid (in X2).
If some of you who already have mines could report here (or PM me) the stats: yield, cycle time, products per cycle, and mine type, then I could verify whether they follow the (X2) equation. I do not need many points.
EDIT: What was I thinking, 40:01 is yield 0! Silicon mine on an ore asteroid.

L 5x

1:20 ? I would have expected a bit faster cycle, like 1:14. They may have changed the equation, so I need more observations, please.pa2005 wrote:got a L Sil Mine in Ore Belt on a 64 Roid

I suspect that you indeed have placed the mine on an ore roid. A cycle time of 00:01:29 would be much more believable. Could you load an earlier save and check the asteroid where you did build that mine on?igorstef wrote:Yield: 26

@lordlexus Odd, since there are three Crystal fabs in Home of Light and a Quatum tube fab too. Besides, I do not recall spotting a roid there. Have not looked carefully either.

Are you actively selling the Silicon? As I just pointed out in another thread, you really need a seller ship or two for just about every factory in X3. No matter the price, the AI traders are horribly ineffective.
The only factory I have that sells without my own seller ships is my Illegal Goods complex that sells space weed and spacefuel... All my dozens of other factories have seller ships.

You are correct. I picked up one ore asteroid near silicon one that I chose for my factory (they are all same to me ). Sorry guys I didn’t even know that you can put silicon mine on ore asteroid .I suspect that you indeed have placed the mine on an ore roid. A cycle time of 00:01:29 would be much more believable. Oh well I will return to save before baying factory.

L is doubles any yeild out put and M is normal yeild out put. So 100% increase with L in contrast to M on the same yeild.son of cronus wrote:Does anyone know the exact cycle times of the differnt sizes of silicon mine? im thinking of buying a M from argon to stick on a 54 yeild roid in orebelt, but now im thinking to maybe save up for the L size mine.
My silicon is made in 1:0440 minutes is a long time
Really? Then M and L for mines differ from M and L for factories.Apocholypse wrote:L is doubles any yeild out put and M is normal yeild out put. So 100% increase with L in contrast to M on the same yeild.
My silicon is made in 1:04
For factories I know for sure that the production rate of M is 2x, for L is 5x, and for XL is 10x. I think that this is true for mines too. Then L does 150% more than M.
Was your Silicon mine build on a roid with yield 37?

to read all this numbers is quite interesting, but unfortunatetly my Sil mine does near to nill credits, cause all my customers are on full stock and their customers too. so my mine is worth as much as a wheat farm on the top of a 0.2 rock in nerver never land.
any1 got this problem too? is this the vanishing npc trader bug or am i missing something?
